Arndilly is for me the best beat in Scotland. Every inch of water offers you an opportunity of a fish with perfect fly water from top to bottom. The Ghillies are informed, friendly and a pleasure to spend time with. The house has one of the best views of the river Spey and is furnished to the highest level. It is a joy to spend time there and always a sad time when you leave.
Nowhere else in the world will you find a better example of what Arndilly offers; the quintessentially Scottish salmon fishing experience.
With three ghillies, fourteen pools surrounded by ancient trees, elusive wildlife and a lodge with beautiful views just moments from the river, Arndilly is truly one of the jewels of the Spey.
We very sadly heard of the death of Tony Green who was our head ghillie for many years and did so much for the beat.
He will be sorely missed up and down the Spey valley and our sincerest condolences go to his wife Rosalind and the whole family.
The Arndilly Team.
Alasdair MacGregor and Gary Bethuen both NHS Frontline staff enjoyed a great day on 22 March at Arndilly courtesy of Arndilly Fishings culminating in Alasdair catching a cracking 8lber from the Cobble Pot. Thanks lads – we appreciate everything you’ve done for us in these difficult times.
